Once both sides are in the room, files and messages travel straight from one browser to the other, encrypted the whole way.
Leaving a message works the same way without both people being online: write it, get a link or a short code to pass on, and it deletes itself once it has been read or once it expires.
Common questions
Do I need an account to send a file?
No. There is no sign-up, no email address and no app to install. Open the page, share the six-digit code, and send.
How large a file can I send?
Large ones are fine. The receiving browser writes the file to disk as it arrives rather than holding it in memory, so the practical limit is free space on that device. Where a browser cannot do that, a smaller limit applies and you are told before the transfer starts.
Are my files stored on your server?
No. Files go directly between the two browsers. Our server only helps the two devices find each other; it never receives the file. When a direct connection is impossible, the encrypted stream is relayed — and a relay that cannot decrypt is all it is.
Is it free?
Yes. Sending files and leaving notes are free, with no paid tier and no trial.
Can I send from my phone to my computer?
Yes. Open the page on both, share the code, and the transfer runs between them — no cable and no cloud account in the middle.
Do notes really delete themselves?
Yes. A note is encrypted in your browser before it is sent, the server holds only ciphertext under an identifier it cannot reverse, and it is removed once it expires or has been read.
